Communication/Journalism - Studying Abroad

Communication and Journalism courses are very popular amongst students who wish to pursue a career in the field of Humanities or Arts. For students who wish to pursue a career in Journalism/Mass Communication, studying abroad is a great option for two big reasons:

The first reason is that the reputed courses in the field of Journalism/Mass Communication are primarily available in India only at the postgraduate level, unlike abroad, where excellent courses in this field are available at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The second big reason due to which Indian students often choose to pursue such courses abroad is that foreign universities focus a lot on the practical aspects of these courses which gives students a lot of industry exposure, whereas in India the focus of such courses is comparatively more on theory.

After you complete your Communication/Journalism degree from a foreign university, you will generally be able to work anywhere in the world, as long as your course is reputed and a company is willing to offer you a job. However, it is important to keep in mind that in a lot of countries, you would need to procure a license before you can work as Journalist.

As far as coming back to India and working is concerned, you should ideally face no problems as long as your degree is recognized in India.
