What do you do after you get your results?
The counseling will be conducted for all the seats in member Private Medical and Dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. These seats are open to candidates from across the country and there is no domicile requirement.
Your goal is to get admission in a suitable college. The UPCMET test result becomes the basis for the admission.
Once the results are announced, you will have to participate in an online counseling procedure which is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA) at specified venues.
All candidates who have their name in the merit list will be required to appear for the counseling personally along with originals and copies of all their documents including Class 10th and 12th mark sheets, UPCMET Admit Card etc.
Before you report for the counseling, make sure you research in detail about the colleges you can join through this counseling procedure. You should be clear about at least your top 5 choices/preference before you step in the hall for counseling.
Make your choices/preferences based on two main factors:
1. The colleges you wish to join.
2. The colleges that are likely to admit you based on your rank. Go through the ranks that were admitted by a particular college last year for your course. You can obtain the ranks of last year from the counseling website.
Base your decision on these two factors and consider multiple choices to ensure that you receive an admission.
Once you reach the venue and the counseling begins, you will be allotted a seat on the basis of your choices and the seats that are available for your rank.
After you’ve been allotted a seat, you will need to report to the college in due time with originals and attested copies of all your documents and submit the admission fee so as to confirm your seat.
Subsequent rounds of counseling will be conducted for seats that are left vacant after the first round.
