Symbiosis Law Entrance Test: SET - Law

National Level Entrance Examination, for students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in Law offered by the Symbiosis Law School, Pune and the Symbiosis Law School, Noida.

SET – Law (Symbiosis Entrance Test for Law) is a National level entrance examination that provides aspiring Lawyers with the opportunity to pursue undergraduate courses in the field of Law at the Symbiosis Law School, Pune or at the Symbiosis Law School, Noida. Both these institutes are a part of the SIU (Symbiosis International University). Through this examination, you will be able to pursue the B.A.LL.B course as well as the B.B.A.LLB course.

The SET – Law is conducted by the SIU’s Test Secretariat to judge the aptitude of students for the Law program. The SET is conducted in 18 cities across the country including Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Noida and Pune.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for the SET – Law paper, you should be less than 20 years of age as on the 3rd of May of the year of admission. This upper age limit is relaxed by 2 years for SC/ST candidates.

You should have passed your Class 12th or equivalent examinations in any stream from a recognized board with not less than 45% marks on an aggregate. For SC/ST candidates, this minimum percentage requirement is 40%.

Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12th or equivalent examinations in the same year as the SET – Law are also eligible to apply provided that they can submit their Class 12th final mark sheets before the specified date.

How to apply?

You can only register for the SET – Law paper online.

In addition to applying for the SET, you will also have to apply directly to the institute you wish to join (Pune or Noida). You can do this by completing the online application form at the website of these institutes.

What is the pattern of the examination?

The duration of the SET Law exam is 2½ hours.

The paper will comprise of 150 objective type multiple – choice questions. There will be 4 options for every question with only 1 correct answer.

You will be awarded 1 mark for very correct answer.

The paper will have 5 sections, namely: Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge.

Each section will have 30 questions (1 mark for each question).

In case you qualify in the SET written exam, you will be asked to come for the subsequent Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) at the institute you had applied to.

Your admission will be based equally on your performance in the SET Law exam as well as in the subsequent PI and WAT.

Separate merit lists will be drawn for the B.A.LL.B program and the B.B.A.LLB program.
