Haryana Medical Admissions

Haryana does not have its own medical entrance exam. Students are admitted in Medical colleges in Haryana on the basis of their results in the AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test).

Admissions into the MBBS/BDS courses take place through an offline counseling procedure that is conducted every year by the Pt. B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak.

Pt. B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences conducts this counseling in 2 rounds. The first round is for all students and has reservations for all categories. The second round of counseling is conducted for seats that are left vacant after the first round.

If seats are left vacant even after the second round of counseling, then candidates can be admitted on the basis of the aggregate of their marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Class 12th examinations irrespective of whether they appeared for the AIPMT or not.

What percentage of seats is the counseling conducted for?

The counseling is conducted for all the state quota seats in Government and Govt. Aided Medical Colleges as well as for 50% of the total seats in Private Medical Colleges in Haryana.

Details for allocation of seats under this category can be found on the websites of these institutions and private colleges.

Out of the total seats that are available for counseling in any medical college, 15% are reserved for candidates under the ‘All India Category’ or the AIC and 85% of the seats are reserved under the ‘State Quota’ or the SQ for Haryana Domiciles.

Counseling for the 15% All India Quota seats is conducted directly by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on the basis of AIPMT results through the following website: http://www.mcc.nic.in/mccres/HomePage.aspx#.
