For any further information, please read the information brochure or visit the following websites: http://www.mcc.nic.in/, www.mciindia.org and www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEE.

What do you do after you get your results?

Candidates who wish to apply through the State Domicile category (provided that they belong to a state that allocates all its seats on the basis of the AIPGMEE results), will need to visit the website of the concerned state counseling authority.

The following counseling procedure is only applicable for the 50% ‘All India Quota’ seats in medical colleges across states that you are not domiciled in.

Your goal is to get admission in a suitable course at a suitable college. The AIPGMEE test result becomes the basis for the admission.

Once the results are announced, you will have to participate in an online counseling procedure which is conducted by the ‘Medical Counseling Committee, Directorate General of Health Services’.

You will have to register online on the following website by creating a User ID and a password: http://mcc.nic.in.

Once you register online, you will have to make your choices with regards to the course and college you wish to join and lock them in due time on the counseling website.

You will have to select the courses and colleges you wish to join in order of preference. Mark your choices/preferences based on two main factors:

1. The colleges and courses you seek.

2. The colleges and courses that are likely to admit you based on your rank. Go through the ranks that were admitted by a particular college last year for your course. You can obtain the ranks of last year from the counseling website.

Base your decision on these two factors and make multiple choices to ensure that you receive an admission.

It’s equally important to rank your choices correctly. The highest level choice with an available seat will be allotted to you.

Once the results are out and you’re allotted a seat, you will need to report to the institute in due time, get your documents (originals) verified (mark sheets, degree, AIPGMEE admit card etc.) and submit the admission fee to confirm your seat.

Subsequent rounds of counseling will be conducted for vacant seats.

For further information regarding the counseling procedure, please visit the following websites:  http://mcc.nic.in, www.mciindia.org and www.nbe.gov.in/AIPGMEE.

What are the prospects?

The AIPGMEE is one of the main national level post graduate medical entrance examinations. It is applicable for the 50% seats in all Medical colleges in all states (except Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh). It was not held in the year 2013 due to the presence of the NEET – PG 2013 exam. But it has been re – introduced from 2014 and NEET – PG has been abolished.

The AIPGMEE is a very important entrance examination and is attempted by thousands of candidates annually. As the number of post graduate seats available in medical colleges is very less, the competition level in this exam is very high and you need to have prepared well to get through.

The rest of the 50% seats in Medical colleges will be allotted through State level and Private medical entrance examinations.

However, some states and institutions will conduct all their admissions into medical institutions on the basis of the AIPGMEE scores of candidates.
